The Endometriosis Care Center within the department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Mount Auburn Hospital (MAH), is offering an intensive 12-month Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery fellowship, starting August/September 2025. The fellowship will be entering its fifth year and with a volume of 400 cases annually we boast a high-volume MIGS practice, focused on advanced endometriosis and complex benign pathologies.
We serve as a referral center for endometriosis in New England and beyond and welcome referrals from all our hospital and community partners. Given the above we are committed to providing surgical support within our hospital, as well as training opportunities for PGY4 residents from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, located in Boston, MA.
Our practice consists of 2 high volume ABOG-certified MIGS surgeons with a clinical interest in endometriosis. Exposure to a wide array of complex benign gynecologic surgery such as laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy is also provided. Even though most of our cases are performed via straight-stick laparoscopy, exposure to robotics is also available.
We are academically affiliated with Harvard Medical School and strive to produce high quality research at least annually, with the fellow spearheading these efforts. We also provide opportunities for simulation training while participation in Mount Auburn’s Medical Education Fellowship is also encouraged, preparing the fellow not only for clinical but also academic success.
The fellow enjoys a minimum of 2-3 days per week in the OR while there are research opportunities built in their schedule. The position is salaried at the PGY-5 level and the fellow enjoys full benefits provided by our system. The fellow participates in labor and delivery coverage at MAH, currently set at 3 24-hour shifts per month.
We encourage both new graduates and mid-career gynecologists to apply. Our organization is committed in providing equal opportunities for all candidates regardless of age, race, gender, religion or sexual orientation.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a cover letter, current CV as well as 3 reference letters to Dr. Kapetanakis at [email protected]
